Waroona, 6215

On a recent trip through the small inland town of Waroona, I saw this field full of cows intently watching a train go by.

Waroona is a bit of a hidden gem - it's small, but not super-small, and has a couple of great bakeries and a pub that serves up a mean dinner.

The Waroona Agricultural Show is coming up soon, so you've got no excuse not to visit.

Gracetown, 6284

A couple of weeks ago I visited the South West. One of the towns that I stopped in was the tiny surfing community of Gracetown.

With just one general store, no restaurants, and some of the world's best surfing, Gracetown might be the perfect escape from city life.

The Margaret River council has put together a pretty good guide to the Gracetown and Cowaramup region - it's work a look if you're in the area.

Other than the beach, the Cowaramup region is home to many wineries and restaurants - it's a great little spot for a weekend get away.
